Your life is a game

treat it like one

People tend to make everything in their lives way more serious than it needs to be.

Just think about it. Most of the challenges that you went through five years ago, you probably don’t even remember them.

However, in the moment it may seem like your whole life is dependent on it.

The ability to zoom in and zoom out is a crucial skill to have. It doesn’t require much, just a change of perspective.

Like you have zoom buttons on a picture, depending on how close or how far out you want to see the picture, you have the same mental zoom buttons in life.

In simplest terms, life is the existence that includes the capacity for growth, reproduction, activity, and continual change that’s eventually followed by death.

A game, similar to life, can be played in many different ways since there are different types of games.

On the fundamental level, a game is an activity one engages in for amusement or fun. It can also be for the challenge or to simply experience something new.

There are rules in both that one must follow to achieve the desired outcome. In life, just like in a game, you can be whatever you want. You get to choose how you build your character. And as you improve your character, you improve your level of play. As you improve your level of play the game becomes more fun.

Understanding the basics

Viewing your life as a game is a beautiful philosophical perspective. You can take insights from various schools of thought - existentialism, absurdism, Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism.

Everyone is playing the game, however, not everyone knows which game they are playing.

Existentialism proposes that we come into this life without a purpose or meaning and it’s up to you to find your purpose. On the other hand, absurdism takes this matter further stating that life is meaningless in general. No matter what you do, eventually, you disappear into the meaningless universe.

Eastern philosophy, whether it’s Buddhism, Taoism, or any practice of Yoga is the most fundamentally established path to being.

These philosophies emphasize the importance of living in the present and accepting the flow of life.

If life was meaningless or it didn’t have a purpose, it simply wouldn’t exist.

That concept never resonated with me.

Nothing in this universe is meaningless.

And just because someone doesn’t know their purpose makes the game of life that much more interesting.

All of the doors are open for you. You just have to walk through them and see what captures you as pure consciousness.

Finding joy in playing this game cultivates awareness and acceptance. You learn to upgrade yourself, like a character in a game, and with each experience you begin to understand the subtleness of life and the way God is playing with you like a loving father with his son.

Playfulness and Creativity

Life is constantly providing opportunities to be playful and creative. Instead of approaching life with seriousness and rigidity embrace what life is offering you because every situation, experience, and circumstance is designed for you to get to know yourself better.

  • Every argument you get yourself into shows your inability to listen.

  • High reactive emotions (like driving in a car and getting upset about someone cutting you off) shows your inability to self-control.

  • Overeating, consumption of junk food, trouble sleeping, or any kind of intoxication is usually a sign of chronic fatigue.

When you adopt a lighthearted attitude and accept the flow of life - whatever happens you find a way to make it enhance your life - it truly becomes an exploration and experimentation process.

Everything and everyone are triggers for you to resolve your karmic traces.

Finding joy in playing this game involves tapping into the deeper parts of oneself and finding that curiosity of a child.

Allow yourself to explore freely with whatever your intuition is calling you towards.

Interdependence

Everything in this universe is connected. From the smallest atoms to the infinite galaxies in the universe.

From the sun shining its light to all of the living organisms receiving it.

From a seed in the ground to the food that becomes part of us.

No matter from what lens you observe, spiritual or scientific, you cannot deny the fact that everything in this game of life is interconnected and interdependent.

We are all players on the same team.

What I breathe in you breathe out. What you breathe in I breathe out.

Playing this game successfully involves recognizing the beauty and richness that is shared between our human experience - cultivating empathy, compassion, love, and cooperation.

Our own survival is so dependent on the help of others that a need for love lies at the very core of our existence.

His Holiness The Dalai Lama

Just as in the game, where collaboration and cooperation often lead to greater success and enjoyment, we find fulfillment and enjoyment in helping and uplifting others on this journey of life.

Ultimately, embrace the freedom to create yourself that is not at the expense of others but with collaboration for the betterment of you and everyone around you.

That’s a beautiful game.

That’s ChitLife.
